Big Moves in the Kingsgate: Shmooz Dunfermline 2.0!

A new chapter for Shmooz!

Back in November 2017, we made a huge leap forward - one that changed the way we do business and the way you shop with us. Shmooz moved to a bigger, brighter unit in the Kingsgate Shopping Centre, taking over the space previously occupied by Flying Tiger. And the best part? We’re still here today, better than ever.

Our new home gave us the opportunity to expand what we do best; stocking more of the brands you love. Thanks to the additional space, we were able to bring in a wider selection of our customers’ favourite styles, from streetwear staples to fresh seasonal picks. The layout also gave us room to breathe, with more spacious displays, better lighting, and a more comfortable shopping experience overall. Anyone remember the Boxing Day squeeze in the old unit? That was a thing of the past!

The move itself was no small feat. Although the new unit wasn’t far from our original location, relocating involved a huge effort behind the scenes. We were only closed for one day, but in that short window, our amazing team moved all the stock from the old shop floor, ensured the wall fittings were moved and installed, and relocated everything from our stockroom. It was a massive operation, and we couldn’t be prouder of the teamwork and dedication it took to make it happen so smoothly.

We spoke with Finley, who is our last remaining member of staff from the original store and was involved in the move. This is what he had to say:

"It was a wild but exciting time. There was lots of anticipation as we watched the new unit come together in the weeks leading up to moving day. Then the time came and the coordinated chaos began! It was all hands on deck and I remember we borrowed a few M&S trolleys to help move all the stock quicker. Moving everything through the Kingsgate during trading hours took some effort. It was all worth it in the end!"

This move marked a major milestone in our journey and it's one we’re still proud of today. The support from our loyal customers made it all worth it, and we’re excited to continue evolving and serving you from our store in the Kingsgate.
